Shift Your Perspective!

Fear makes you afraid of things you never should have been afraid of! The latest toilet paper craze is evidence of that! We lose perspective, rationality, and reason when we let fear define us! Just because your feelings are real, that doesn't mean that they are true.

Now, more than before, we as Christians need to change our perspective. We need to shift the negative ways we talk and look at things. We need to convert our fear into faith! We need to show the world a faith perspective instead of a fear perspective on the corona-virus. We need to trust that God is in control and not join in the mass hysteria and runs on supplies at the grocery stores.

Philippians 4:6 describes how we should respond to fear as Christians.

"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for what He has done."

We face fear - with prayer! We trust that God is so much bigger than any giant that we could ever face!

Philippians 4:6 is followed by a promise in Philippians 4:7.

"Then, you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

How do we have peace in troubling times?

We pray! We thank God for what He has done in the past, and we trust Him with the future!

We don't have to hold onto fear of the unknown because God has not given us a spirit of fear! (2nd Timothy 1:7)

We as Christians need to shift our perspective and start looking at this current situation through eyes of faith! Let's be beacons of hope in a world currently ruled by fear of the unknown. Let's walk in courage and not fright. God is in control!

How do we move forward in faith?

Shift your perspective from fear to faith.

Share your toilet paper with those in need for starters!

Encourage those who are afraid, lonely, or hurting.

Serve as you are able. Deliver groceries for the shut-ins. Run errands. Walk dogs. Deliver meals. Provide childcare. Check on the elderly.

And, most importantly, pray!

Prayer matters!

God is so much bigger than corona-virus! Fear is contagious - so is hope!

The media has done a great job of spreading fear. Will you commit to being a part of spreading hope and reason?
